Vehicles traveling through Mexico’s federal roads must carry liability insurance or face a fine that can range between US$105.00 and US$215.00 as a result of an 2013 amendment to its Ley de Caminos, Puentes y Autotransporte Federal. The new ruling became effective on September 23, 2014.
